Having recently suffered a delay to the PC release of Thymesia is unfortunate. However, on the plus side is the great news that Thymesia is now also arriving on next-gen consoles in 2022!

Specifically, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles, Thymesia is one of those hardcore action RPG titles that fans of a certain Dark Souls will undoubtedly be a fan of. As half-human, half-raven Corvus, explore this haunting world to try and rid it of a plague that has claimed most of the inhabitants.

We managed to have a quick play of the opening area of Thymesia during EGX 2021 and can safely say it is deserving of being mentioned in the same breath as Dark Souls. The combat is very similar as you learn enemy attacks and the best time to parry to give yourself an opening. But, Thymesia also has a unique mechanic to help turn the tide in your favour. Before that, Team 17 and OverBorder Studio revealed a new trailer to help soften the blow of the PC delay. Check it out here:

If you happen to think that Corvus looks like a plague doctor, well, that handily ties into the mechanics of Thymesia. The plague that has ravaged and taken hold of the residents of this world and turned them into nightmarish creatures can be used against them. Corvus can quite literally rip the plague from an enemy and brandish it as a weapon against them for a short period of time. Their defences are lowered, and your attacks are heightened, it is a win-win situation!

When it releases in 2022, Thymesia promises a hauntingly beautiful world to explore, around a dozen bosses to beat (or be beaten by) and tons of replayability thanks to multiple endings. Fans of Souls-like games on consoles now have another new game to look forward to in 2022. Elden Ring, what?

There is currently no Xbox Store for Thymesia, but it can be wishlisted on Steam here. Shout out in the comments if this one interests you.
