Japanese news outlet 4Gamer recently got the chance to sit down with a multitude of developers from a variety of different video game development studios, including those from Koei Tecmo, to ask about their aspirations for 2022. The president of KT’s Team Ninja division, Yosuke Hayashi; producer for the Dead or Alive series, and Nintendo platform exclusive titles including Hyrule Warriors, Fire Emblem Warriors, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, had some interesting comments regarding the year ahead. According to him, Koei Tecmo will announce games in 2022 that will show the “full power” of the current state of the company, ones that have been in development for several years.

A few other heads at Koei Tecmo also teased some of the projects they’re working on.

Junzo Hosoi, brand manager for Gust Co., says that celebratory plans are underway for the 25th anniversary of the Atelier series to go alongside the upcoming release of Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream. Fumihiko Yasuda, brand director for Team Ninja, reminds everyone that a new Three Kingdoms action game is still being developed, and reveals that his own secret directorial title is finally starting to take shape after being in the planning stages for many years. And lastly, Keisuke Kikuchi, producer of the Fatal Frame series, will be “taking on new challenges” to “create something fun through trial and error,” but he clarifies it’ll be a while before the announcement.
