The team at Kaizen Game Works run with a philosophy that player freedom is the most important factor of any game. It’s that which has seemingly been worked into Paradise Killer – all as it launches on Xbox, Game Pass and PlayStation.

Having previously done the rounds on PC and Nintendo Switch, Paradise Killer continues the investigative saga by launching on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5. Oh, it hits the Epic Game Store too for good measure.

It’s priced at £16.74 from the Xbox Store (or you can utilise Game Pass) and will give players the opportunity to run their way through a free formed open world that just so happens to play host to the most hardcore of murder mystery experiences.

It’s here way Xbox and PlayStation players can now spend time forming their own opinions about a mass murder, taking the clues that are given to them, creating their own arguments in the process and presenting it all up through the end game trial. Set on the lovingly named Paradise Island, it’s going to be up to you to take what you learn and breathe fresh life back into Paradise, all by unveiling the hidden truths which have held it back.

There’s a lot going on in Paradise Killer and not only will you have to draw on your finest detective skills, but working these in to a fully interactive narrative will be key. With an open world to wander through too and cryptic messages and secrets slowly seeing everything unfold, this could well be a world like no other.

The key features and reasons you should be playing are…

  • Free form investigation and evidence gathering
    • Find the evidence in any order
    • Assemble it into a truth
    • Choose who to accuse and close the case
  • Fully interactive story
    • Choose what to investigate and when
    • Choose how to speak with the secretive psychos on the island
    • Poke holes in alibis
    • Coerce them into giving up their secrets
    • Drive an end game trial through the truths you believe
  • An open world filled with mysteries
    • Every building has a history to discover
    • The remnants of lives lead in service of astral beings litter the streets
    • Cryptic story details can be gleaned from examining the bizarre relics of a suddenly vanished populace
  • Learn a long dead language born on a forgotten planet
    • Use Starlight to crack ancient nightmare computers
    • Decipher a dead alien race’s language
    • Find the evidence is hidden behind a network of arcane machines

It’s for those reasons why we’re so damn interested in Paradise Killer and the launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5. It’s also why we’re looking to get involved in the story as soon as possible, delivering a review at the end of our playthrough.

Stay tuned for that as we move forward, but for now you’ll find Paradise Killer pulling the shots over at the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S or the PlayStation Store for those on PS4 and PS5. It’s on PC too (Steam previously and now also seemingly the Epic Store), whilst Nintendo Switch folk have also had access for some time.

More info can be taken in via the original launch trailer.
