Nintendo Europe has confirmed its plans to close off the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShop in 2023. From 27th March, 2023 you will no longer be able to purchase any games on either systems. The company also said that from 29th August. 2022 you will no longer be able to add funds to the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShop. If you’ve made purchases on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U you will still be able to re-download software you’ve purchased on the systems after 27th March, 2023 and access online play. It’s real shame, as there are no legal alternatives to purchase some of the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U games which are no longer readily available physically at their recommended retail price
