Hello Games has confirmed to Eurogamer that No Man’s Sky PSVR 2 version will be available when the headset launches globally on February 22, 2023. Announced at June 2022’s PlayStation State of Play, the PSVR 2 release will be free for those who already own the game and will offer an enhanced experience utilizing the PS5 and PSVR 2’s capabilities.

What to expect from No Man’s Sky PSVR 2 update

Hello Games has yet to dive into specifics of No Man’s Sky’s PSVR 2 update but has teased that it’ll take “immersion and believability up by several major notches.” The studio wrote:

To experience No Man’s Sky in PS VR was a minor miracle, such was the technical challenge we faced bringing an infinite seamless universe into the futuristic headset. Several years later, the technology has taken another major leap forward such that, now, we have the opportunity to immerse the player to a whole new level. The power of PlayStation 5, coupled with the all-new PlayStation VR 2 hardware, including the new Sense controllers, combine to take that sense of immersion and believability up by several major notches.

No Man’s Sky is an impressive story of a developer not only turning things around following a rocky launch, but also going above and beyond to keep the game and its community alive.
