Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX flies onto Xbox, PlayStation and Switch

The extra-terrestrial race known only as the Crystals have launched yet another devastating assault on planet Earth. It is up to you to soar high into the sky, and unleash hell-fire down onto this invading pest! Yep, Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX is here.

Retro Bullet-Hell Action

Releasing today in North America, with Europe having to wait until the 9th to get hands-on, Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX is the latest in the Raiden series from developers MOSS, and today launches on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch. A PC release will come in due course. 

At its core, Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX is a retro-inspired bullet-hell shooter, which places you in the cockpit of a high-powered attack spaceship. The aim of the game is to dodge all of the incoming bullets, whilst looking for breaks in the action to return fire, and take down a variety of enemies.

Xbox players may be familiar with the Raiden franchise, as previous instalments of the shooter – confusingly Raiden IV x MIKADO remix and Raiden V – have had us on our toes for years now.

Double Trouble:

One of the unique game modes Raiden III x MIKADO MANIAX boasts, in addition to the more classic Score Attack and Boss Rush modes, is that of Double Play. This will see you taking on the seemingly impossible task of controlling two ships at once: double the firepower, but double the chaos in keeping them away from deadly bullets.

As well as choosing between original and remixed background music for each stage, there’s the opportunity for bragging rights as your high scores will be up on the World Rankings, for every other pilot to see.
