Be a good doggo in Farewell North

Over recent months and years, it’s been the cats who have come to the fore of gaming. But now there’s a bit of a scrap going on, as the dogs look to regain command. They’ll be doing it this August with the new narrative adventure of Farewell North.

Dogs vs Cats

From the solo developer of Kyle Banks and their indie publishing friends at Mooneye Studios comes Farewell North – and in it you’ll play as a little border collie romping through the Scottish highlands. What could be more delightful? Beats playing as a cat in Stray, no?

Set for launch on Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC come August 15th 2024, Farewell North works as an open world exploration adventure; one in which you get the chance to be a good doggo. See, it focuses on collie Chesley, doing his best to bring colour back into his owner’s life as a story about loss and mental health is slowly unveiled. It’s the only way his beloved owner has a chance to heal.

Several differently themed islands will be explorable in Farewell North, taken in at your own pace. From there, expect light puzzles and remembering the events of the past that led to your human falling into depression.

Play as a dog

We’ll bring you more as the August release of Farewell North rolls onto the horizon. But for now, there’s a great little trailer to enjoy.

If you want to get wishlisting, the Steam page is ready. As always, let us know what you think. We reckon we’ll be rewriting our ‘greatest dogs in gaming‘ article once Chelsey starts taking in their daily walk…
