The Retrowave series moves into its second week and Autumn has dawned in Mexico. I have to say that I have been enjoying the new radio station more than I thought I would, so good job there.
But with a new week comes new challenges in Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist, giving us the opportunity to try and win new cars. I’ve gathered everything that should be needed to hopefully get you through Series 24 Autumn.
Let’s go!
Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Quattrovalvole
One of the classic 80’s poster cars now, with the Lamborghini Countach LP5000 QV taking centre stage. The last hurrah of the Countach, this featured a 5.2 litre V12 engine to make performance brisk.
Should you not have one in your garage, it will set you back 220,000 credits.
Chapter 1 – Final Evolution
Get in your new car, take it for a spin. Step one complete.
Chapter 2 – Refined Form
Win a Street race – simply pick a nice short one! Mine didn’t look awfully refined by the end…
Chapter 3 – Rare Collectible
Now go for a 5 mile drive. Hit the highway, I guess!
Chapter 4 – Pop Icon
Now we simply have to win three stars from speed traps. Should be easy enough!
Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 34.
Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts
With the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.
The Trial, the Eventlab having two events, PR Stunts and a massive three Seasonal Championships. More racing makes me a happy boy.
The Trial – Wedge Racers
Let’s try to race nicely, yeah?
We need a Retro Supercar, and the tuning limit is A Class 800. I chose a Countach, share code: 797737461.
The prize for managing to find people who actually want to race The Trial like it should be done is a Porsche 911 GT2 from 1995. Not that wedgey…
Eventlab 1 – JOH CEE Presents Horizon Dubai Oldtown
This time we need a Retro Supercar, tuned to S1 Class 900. Step forward the Bugatti EB110, and the share name is S1EB with my GT, Red620Ti.
A reasonable layout but the track surface seems to have the same coefficient of friction as Teflon – finding and maintaining grip seems almost impossible. Weird!
Take away a Toyota Supra from 1992 for completing this, why don’t you?
Eventlab 2 – JOHNBOY1782 Presents Rally Cross Island
Rally Monsters tuned to S1 Class 900 means only one thing – the Hoonigan Escort RS1800. God I love this thing. Share code is : 264985022.
Once you realise that you’re not here to enjoy yourself and drive round the corners like you’re driving Miss Daisy, this course starts to work. However, some of the corners made me Rally Cross.(see what I did there?)
For winning out, we can take away a Ferrari F355.
PR Stunt 1 – Speed Trap – Calle Principal
This week, all the PR stunts need the same car, a Lamborghini tuned to S1 Class 900.
I went with an Aventador Superveloce from 2016, the only one quick enough!
The share name is S1VEL with my GT, Red620Ti.
We need to hit the trap at over 200 mph.
Do so and you’ll find a Super Wheelspin heading your way in return.
PR Stunt 2 – Speed Zone – La Silica
Some average speed driving to do here, and this time the target is 230 mph. I went again with the same Lambo as the rest of the challenges.
Another Super Wheelspin awaits.
Seasonal Championship 1 – Silvia Surfer
Those wacky pun writers are here once again.
Retro Sports Cars tuned to only A Class 800 is the theme here, and so I went with a Lotus Elise, and the share code is : 925026730.
For winning out, we can take home a Nissan Silvia.
Seasonal Championship 2 – Sand Scorpion
We need to get our hands on a Pickup or 4X4, tuned to B Class 700. I chose a Chevy Colorado ZR2, and the share code is : 153915151.
The prize for winning is a Lambo LM002, the biggest, stupidest car Lamborghini ever made.
Seasonal Championship 3 – Sunset Drive
This is a clever pun as it is a Midnight Club type affair. Those pun writers do it again!
Anyway, when the hilarity dies down, we need a Retro Saloon tuned to B Class 700. I chose an Audi RS4 Avant, not a saloon, but the share code is : 172973840.
The prize for winning out is a Nissan Skyline GT-R.
Part 3: Other Challenges
There’s always more to get involved in than just the racing, and that is the case again this week with Series 34 Autumn. You’ve got a photo to take, some smashing and a touch of Open racing. Enough to keep you out of mischief I reckon!
Photo Challenge – #MRTWO
With a name like that, it has to be a Toyota MR2, doesn’t it? The 1989 SC model to be exact, and we need to take a picture at Palacio Azul del Oceano. Sounds pretty easy, no?
Enjoy my artistic effort up at the top of this piece. The location you need to be in is below.
The reward? A new DoodlePattern Helmet. Sounds painful!
Horizon Open – Wave World-Wide
Do some Open Racing in any car from the 1980’s.
There’s literally any class possible, so I can’t give you a tune, but the prize is worth it – a Cat Wave car horn?!
Collectibles – Sun Smash
We need to drive around Dunas Blancas and smash some stuff now. What we are looking for are 10 sunsets. I’ll post a picture of the item below, along with the location we need to be in.
However you do it, the reward will be a new horn, Synth Wave.
Part 4: Hot Wheels Events
If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.
Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Forest Escape
Do a jump! What could go wrong? 320m worth of jumping to be exact.
We need a Retro Supercar, and the tuning limit is S1 Class 900. I went for a Bugatti EB110, and the share name is S1EB with my GT, Red620Ti. This one is tough.
The prize is another Super Wheelspin. You know, those things we really don’t need…
Seasonal Championship – Chevy Set Go
Same car is required here, so stick with the EB110.
Completing the championship will get us a Chevy Montecarlo.
Part 5: Rally Adventure Events
The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…
Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Canyon Snap
Get in a Retro Rally car, tune it to B Class 700, and try to fly more than 105m.
I went for the Subaru Impreza 22B, and the share code for mine is : 164422572.
A Super Wheelspin is your reward.
Seasonal Championship – Ren-Over and Out
Good grief.
Same car class and tuning limit here, but it looks like an on road race is afoot.
I used the same Scooby as above, gotta save those pennies.
The reward for racing? A Renault 5 GT Turbo. [Ed: I had one of these back in the day – it cost me a flippin’ fortune!]
The rewards for Series 34 and Autumn in Forza Horizon 5
With Series 34 rocking and rolling, there are new cars for the month. And they are the N Vision 74’22 for 80 points and a DeLorean DMC12 for 160 points. If you work hard, the first car is theoretically in reach this week…
Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 34 as well. There are four to try your hand at this month – Playa Azul Circuit and Las Laderas for real engines, and Descansar Dorado Sprint and Los Jardines Circuit for battery powered cars. Post a clean lap on each to score 4 whole points towards the prize cars.
Grab enough points and Series 34 Autumn also sees you given access to the exclusive BMW M6 from ‘86 for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get a BMW 850CSi, a hard to find car apparently.
We’ll be back with similar guides for the rest of Series 34 as Winter and Spring come along.
To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.
Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
