Hunt: Showdown 1896 Arrives – New Era Dawns with Map & Engine Upgrade

The next chapter of Hunt: Showdown is here – as it leaps forward into Hunt: Showdown 1896. 

A new era of Hunt emerges from the shadows today as Crytek take players on an all-new experience, leaping forward, going back to Hunt: Showdown 1896.

Over the last few years, Hunt: Showdown has proven itself to have staying power. First arriving in Game Preview form, before launching in full, complemented by a ton of DLC over the weeks and months. But now, it’s all about Hunt: Showdown 1896. 

It builds on things with the power of CRYENGINE 5.11 and an upgrade that will allow players the chance to experience a new way of playing, enhanced visuals, multiple other improvements and better performance. it also means that console players will see native 4K and 60 fps support on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and 60 fps and 2k for Xbox Series S, all in glorious HDR.

New Map?

But what about that new Mammon’s Gulch map? Well, Crytek are promising that in Mammon’s Gulch, you’ll get to visit 16 unique compounds spread across the peaks and ravines of the new Hunt biome.

You’ll also be found passing through torched towns and delve deep into the mines, avoid new threats, and take advantage of the terrain as you explore new strategic vantage points and tactics. Doing so will see you taking to the high ground in the struggle against rival Hunters, or venturing down into the Gulch’s deep mines to face untold horrors.
