The first full trailer for HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 was released. Posters featuring key characters are also revealed. This is the first look of the show’s version of Abby Anderson, one of the main characters from Naughty Dog’s sequel.

How far will The Last of Us Season 2’s story go?

Released on The Last of Us Day, the second season’s two-minute teaser trailer gives fans a peek at what to expect from the upcoming season. Unsurprisingly, a lot of it looks ripped straight out of its video game counterpart, complete with Pearl Jam’s ‘Future Days’ playing in the background. It seems HBO’s The Last of Us Season 2 won’t stray too far from its source material. Check out the trailer below.

The teaser also gives a first look at some of its key characters, most importantly Abby, played by Kaitlyn Dever. Abby is one of the two stories players follow in The Last of Us Part 2. She will surely be an integral part of the upcoming season. That being said, not a lot of footage of her in action is shown.

The trailer also shows the official first looks of Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, and Jeffery Wright as Isaac.

It is already confirmed the story of The Last of Us Part 2 will be adapted into at least two seasons. However, that does beg the question, when is the stopping point for Season 2? The teaser does suggest it may go further than fans think. Without spoiling too much, it does look like The Last of Us Season 2 will pass the game’s most controversial moment. At the very least, it does seem Ellie will begin her revenge mission and be in Seattle for a couple of days by the end of the season.

The Last of Us Season 2 sees Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, Gabriel Luna, and Rutina Wesley return as Joel, Ellie, Tommy, and Maria respectively. Along with the aforementioned castings of Abby, Dina, Jesse, and Isaac, new additions include Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, and Danny Ramirez as Manny. Catherine O’Hara is set to guest star as well.

HBO’s The Last of Us is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann. Additionally, Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Evan Wells also executive produced.
