PS5 Pro reviews are out, and critics are reporting that the console resolves one of base PS5’s biggest storage complaints. The PS5 Pro comes with a 2TB SSD, of which players have access to a whopping 1.89TB.

PS5 Pro may reduce the need for additional storage

As highlighted by TechRadar (thanks, PushSquare), the PS5 launched with an 825GB SSD, of which players only have access to 667GB (80% of the space). In comparison, the PS5 Pro leaves 94.5% of its drive — 1.89TB of 2TB — for players to use.

TechRadar reckons that this will reduce the need for expensive extra storage solutions, particularly for players who will opt for a disc drive and maintain a physical library.

Other than the above, we’ve seen quite a few reviewers state that the PS5 Pro does indeed come out cheaper than PCs with similar specs and capabilities. Engadget, for instance, states that PS5 Pro is “the best choice under $1,000” for those who want “4K like graphics with ray tracing at 60 fps.”

The Verge’s Sean Hollister revealed that he had a significantly better experience running The Last of Us Part 1 on the PS5 Pro compared to his gaming PC with a graphics card that alone retails for $300.

PS5 Pro will release tomorrow, November 7.
