Microsoft executive Phil Spencer has reiterated that there are “no red lines” when it comes to Xbox games on PlayStation. Spencer emphasized Microsoft’s stance on multiplatform releases in a new interview with Bloomberg, during which he also revealed that the company won’t shy away from further acquisitions.

Spencer teases possibility of Xbox’s Halo on PlayStation

There are ongoing rumors that one of Xbox’s biggest and most signifcant franchises, Halo, is being considered for PlayStation. As those rumors ramp up, Spencer says it’s still too early to make such a decision regarding Halo.

“I do not see sort of red lines in our portfolio that say ‘thou must not,’” Spencer told Bloomberg, adding that there’s no final decision on Halo’s PlayStation port yet. However, Spencer has made similar statements in the past, only for the rumors to end up being true.

The executive understandably can’t divulge Microsoft’s plans, but if Xbox’s recent pattern is any indication, Halo will probably end up on PlayStation.

Elsewhere in the interview, Spencer said that while no acquisitions are “imminent,” Microsoft is eyeing more studios where it makes sense. That said, the company won’t be jumping to make another major acquisition following Activision Blizzard, which is still in the process of settling in.
