Neon Blood – it’s finally here

Remember that cyberpunk RPG we mentioned way back in 2022, the one that was supposed to launch in 2023? Well, it’s now here. Yep, Neon Blood is available to purchase, download and play. Finally.

After a longer-than-expected development cycle, Neon Blood is slashing its way onto Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

This ambitious title from Chaotic Brain Studios promises a blend of cyberpunk aesthetics, turn-based combat, and a thought-provoking narrative that explores themes of social inequality and revolution.

A Divided City, a Fight for Justice

Neon Blood transports players to the year 2053, where humanity has been reduced to a single macropolis known as Viridis. This city is divided into two distinct sectors: the opulent Bright City, home to the wealthy and privileged, and the impoverished Blind City, where crime and despair run rampant.

Axel McCoin, a former detective from Blind City, is determined to break down the barriers of inequality and spark a revolution that will bring justice to Viridis.

Features That Will Electrify Your Senses

  • Cyberpunk Setting: Immerse yourself in a gritty and atmospheric cyberpunk world, with neon-lit streets, advanced technology, and a society grappling with social and economic disparities.
  • Turn-Based Combat: Engage in strategic turn-based battles, utilising a variety of skills, abilities, and items to overcome your enemies.
  • Character-Driven Narrative: Follow Axel McCoin’s journey as he fights for justice and confronts the corrupt forces that control Viridis.
  • Exploration and Discovery: Explore the diverse districts of Viridis, from the bustling streets of Blind City to the gleaming towers of Bright City, uncovering hidden secrets and interacting with a cast of intriguing characters.
  • Unique Art Style: Experience a visually captivating blend of 2D and 3D graphics, with hand-drawn pixel art characters set against detailed 3D environments.

A Revolution in Cyberpunk Storytelling

Neon Blood aims to push the boundaries of cyberpunk storytelling, exploring themes of social injustice, corruption, and the fight for equality. The game’s narrative delves into the complexities of Viridis’s society, challenging players to question the status quo and fight for a better future.

The question is, do we still want cyberpunk? After all, that’s a genre that was being rinsed when Neon Blood was originally due to launch. But now? As 2025 is in view? We’ll find out in full review.

A Game with a Message

Neon Blood is more than just an action RPG; it’s a game with a message. Through Axel McCoin’s journey, players will witness the struggles of those living in the shadows of a corrupt system and the power of individuals to spark change.

Neon Blood is available now on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One (through the Xbox Store – £16.74), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Join the revolution, fight for justice, and experience a cyberpunk adventure that will challenge your perceptions and ignite your passion for change.
