Assassin’s Creed Shadows Copies Leak a Month Ahead of Launch, Ubisoft Responds

Physical copies of Assassin’s Creed Shadows have somehow leaked a month ahead of launch, with its gameplay and story spoilers making their way online. The game’s development has been a rollercoaster of sorts, and now Ubisoft is scrambling to take down leaks stemming from discs being sold this far in advance.

We’re not going to host any gameplay or spoilers here for obvious reasons, but for the curious souls, there’s plenty of them being shared on Reddit.

In a statement published on Assassin’s Creed social media pages, Ubisoft urged players not to share spoilers and stressed that the discs carry an older build of the game. AC Shadows is set to receive a day-one patch “to prepare the experience for launch.”

Considering AC Shadows doesn’t release until March 20, we’re guessing that Ubisoft had already begun shipping copies of the game in some regions before it announced a second delay in January. The game, which was originally supposed to release in November 2024, was first pushed to February 14 and then to March 20.

Ubisoft canceled its Valentine’s Day plans to further polish AC Shadows, and the improvements are precisely what the day-one patch will contain.
