Today’s Pokémon Presents gave us lots of updates on upcoming Pokémon titles, like Detective Pikachu Returns, the classic games coming to Switch Online, and even new raids for Mewtwo in Scarlet and Violet. However, none of those updates were as substantial as the one we got on the upcoming Scarlet and Violet DLC, with the showcase spending ten minutes of its 35-minute runtime to reveal new Pokémon, new areas, and even a release date. Here’s everything you need to know about Pokémon Scarlet and Vilet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero.

We knew that one of the expansions, The Teal Mask, would be coming in the fall – but now we know the exact date. On September 13, you’ll be able to leave the Paldea region and explore the area around Kitakami Village, which is where the DLC takes place. According to the trailer, ancient folklore of the village says that they were attacked by an Ogre, but that it was driven off by three Pokémon of legend: Okidogi, Munkidori, Fezandipiti. At the time of your arrival, the village will be participating in the Festival of Masks, where you can experience the local culture and learn more about this mysterious legend. We also got a glimpse of a new Pokémon called Dipplin, an evolution of the apple Pokémon Applin. The village is known for its apple orchards so that likely has something to do with this new, candy-dipped creature.

The village is also home to a minigame called Ogre Oustin’, where you can ride your legendary Pokémon around to pop balloons and earn mochi, a food that can alter your Pokémon’s base stats for competitive play. The Teal Mask will also introduce you to the traveling photographer Perrin, who will ask you to assist her in taking photos. You can even get a Roto-Stick, which is basically a selfie stick for your Rotom Phone.

The Indigo Disk doesn’t have a release date (other than its winter release window), but we did learn some more specific details about it. As an exchange student at Blueberry Academy, you’ll get to experience everything their school has to offer. You can take new classes, interact with the students and participate in Pokémon battles. The fiercest battlers call themselves the BB League – make your way to the top, and you can even fight their school’s elite four. One of their members, Drayton, even has a new Pokémon called Arachaludon, an evolution of Duraludon.

Blueberry Academy also houses a massive terrarium that they use to recreate wild habitats, including savannah, coastal, canyon, and polar biomes, all of which house new Pokémon. If you want to deepen your bond with Koraidon or Miraidon, you can do new trials that give you a temporary ability to fly, though the trailer seems to tease that there may be a way to make that change permanent. Finally, the academy also has a room called the League Club that you can decorate, use to change your Pokéball throwing style, or invite trainers over to battle and mingle with.

The trailer closes with a teaser that the journey will lead you back to Area Zero – it is the DLC’s namesake, after all – but doesn’t mention exactly what you’ll be doing there or why. We also got glimpses at two more paradox Pokémon that seem to be based on the legendary Raikou and Cobalion.
