In a surprise announcement, 2025’s first ever PS Plus Extra and Premium day-one game has been revealed along with a trailer. Remedy Entertainment has announced a Control spinoff titled FBC: Firebreak, which will launch on both PS Plus and Xbox Game Pass on an unspecified date next year.

What we know about 2025’s first PS Plus game, FBC: Firebreak

FBC: Firebreak is the official title for what Remedy previously referred to as Project Condor. It’s a three-player cooperative first-person shooter set in the Control universe, and as you’ve probably already guessed, FBC stands for the Federal Bureau of Control.

“As the Bureau’s headquarters faces a deadly and prolonged siege by otherworldly forces, only Firebreak — its most adaptable response unit — has the skills and courage to restore order,” reads an official description. Check out a trailer below:

FBC: Firebreak isn’t free-to-play, but will be “mid-priced,” according to Remedy. It’ll be the studio’s first-ever self-published game.

In a press release, Remedy pledged post-launch content support for FBC: Firebreak, and said that it’s creating a “gameplay-driven experience” that leans into “strange, surreal elements” that Remedy is known for adding to its games.

“FBC: Firebreak is an opportunity to try something wholly new while fans wait for Control 2 or for those new to our games,” said Control franchise’s executive producer, Juha Vainio.
