Fans think an Assassin’s Creed 1 remake is in the works at Ubisoft after the developer released a video to kick off the franchise’s 15th anniversary. The video included a CG clip of the game that kickstarted one of the most successful video game franchises, and it didn’t take long for fans to notice that the clip had been upgraded.

Is Assassin’s Creed 1 remake or remaster a possibility?

Assassin’s Creed’s popular Ezio trilogy was remastered on all platforms but the assassin who started it all, Altair, never received the remaster treatment. It’s also the only game in the series that doesn’t have PlayStation trophies since it was released prior to PS3 getting its equivalent of Xbox achievements. Naturally, fans of the series – especially those who have fond memories of the original, linear games – became excited seeing the little graphical upgrade shown in the tweet above but we wouldn’t get our hopes up about either a remake or a remaster. It looks like Ubisoft just brushed up a brief clip to make it look nice considering the original release’s age. Nevertheless, that hasn’t stopped anyone from speculating.

I personally wouldn’t mind reliving Altair’s story if it comes with trophies but the first game did have a number of issues and I’m not quite sure it would translate well into a modern release.

In other news, it looks like Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 remake will be revealed today, and a PS5 Pro controller will reportedly be unveiled soon.
