The game’s campaign mode, known as the GRID World Series, will blend documentary-style live-action segments will racing gameplay. As a racer participating in the GRID World Series, the player will go head-to-head against the world’s most skilled drivers. From an ambitious five-time champion looking to break a world record to a driver intent on becoming the first woman champion, there will be plenty of challengers for the title.
GRID Legends was originally announced earlier this year. In addition to over 100 vehicles ranging from touring cars to big rigs, the game will also feature a mixture of real and fictional racing tracks from around the world. Director Chris Smith then followed up the announcement with more details, revealing that GRID‘s nemesis system would make a return. Players can also choose to upgrade their cars. While specifics on how the mechanic will work have not been announced, fans can expect to see some of those details explained at the upcoming gameplay reveal.
Electronic Arts acquired developer Codemasters back in Late 2020 for $1.2 billion, and GRID Legends will be the first title to release since the acquisition. EA also expects to release at least one racing game every year.
