Acclaimed voice actor Troy Baker is set to work on a new project from Sony game studio Naughty Dog. Besides it being created by Neil Druckmann, details on the role and the upcoming game are unknown.

Troy Baker to return in Naughty Dog’s next game

In a recent GQ profile (as spotted by Eurogamer), it is confirmed The Last of Us lead actor will return to Naughty Dog. Druckmann shared his enthusiasm about working with the actor saying, “In a heartbeat I would always work with Troy.”

There really isn’t anything formally announced about Naughty Dog’s next game. However, there have been teases here and there, some of which are from Druckmann himself. In a webinar with BioShock creator Ken Lavine, he stated the project has been in development since 2020. Additionally, Sony has not granted him permission to announce the game, but he is being given full creative control.

There have also been rumors that the critically lauded studio is working on a fantasy game. This alleged project is said to focus on player freedom.

Baker has been in countless video games for years. Some of these games include beloved franchises like The Last of Us, Death Stranding, Borderlands, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid, and so much more. However, in recent years, he’s been quiet in the gaming world. This year, he is only featured in two new games, Batman: Arkham Shadow and the upcoming Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

According to the profile, it seems Baker’s success has allowed him the luxury of being selective with their roles. This includes the highly anticipated Ken Lavine game Judas. He will also return as Higgs in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

Rumors have been swirling that PlayStation is prepping announcements for the near future. There is a possibility this could be one of them.
