A rumor has started spreading of a new game that is in development at PlayStation Studios. Renowned PlayStation leaker Tidux claims PlayStation Studios are working on an “exclusive action stealth open world game” that will be similar in style to Metal Gear Solid V and Splinter Cell.

When Will the PlayStation Studios Game Be Revealed?

The rumor was corroborated by business analyst Roberto Serrano who predicts the reveal will be this year, possibly during one of PlayStation’s big events like a State of Play or even PlayStation Experience. Admittedly Serrano is quite hit and miss with his insider predictions, but a Playstation event would be the one most befitting the reveal of a PlayStation exclusive game. A State of Play show is rumored to be taking place early in February, but Tidux predicts this will solely be to show off Horizon Forbidden West before its release on February 18.

No more details will be revealed by Tidux before the game is revealed as “I don’t want to ruin the reveal“. So far he has described the title as an “exclusive action stealth open world game” where “MGS 5 meets Splinter Cell and you can approach the mission how ever you want, guns blazing or never seen”. Tidux is a bit more relaible with his insider information, having predicted the first Assassin’s Creed Valhalla gameplay reveal amongst others. As always, though, take the rumors with a pinch of salt.

In other news, don’t forget today is the first day you can claim the three free PlayStation Plus games for January 2022. You have until January 31 to do so.  Mass Effect Legendary Edition will also be added to EA Play later this week and there are new rewards to claim throughout January.
