Seagate has created a new Horizon Forbidden West Limited Edition HDD for use with PS5 and PS4. They’ve also unveiled a new officially licensed plain black Game Drive that’s also compatible with both consoles. Players can sign up to be notified when the products are available for pre-order.

The first official Seagate Game Drives for PS5

The Horizon Forbidden West Limited Edition Game Drive comes in white with a “majestic design” featuring the game’s hero Aloy. The HDD will be available in two different sizes – 2TB and 5TB – and will be compatible with both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles. This means PS4 games can be stored and played directly from the HDD. However, PS5 games will still need to be transferred to the console’s internal SSD before they can be played.

Alternatively, the new plain black high-capacity Game Drive will come in 2TB or 4TB variants. While Seagate has produced a 4TB drive for PS4 before, it is not officially compatible with PS5. Other differences include a new PlayStation logo in the top right corner, a white light, and the lack of blue trim around the side.

Players can sign up on the Seagate website to be notified when either of the HDD drives are available for pre-order. Neither HDD has a release date just yet but we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as we hear more.

In other news, fans have another theory as that what the mysterious Capcom countdown could mean. As well as the possibility of a Resident Evil reveal, they’ve come up with enough hints the countdown could instead be leading to the announcement of Street Fighter VI. Elsewhere, LEGO and PlayStation have confirmed the Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck LEGO for Adults set will be released in May and will feature an Aloy minifigure.
