The United States will have a special Nintendo NY launch event for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom, but if you live in Canada, Nintendo has confirmed that launch events will also be taking place there. However, it won’t be at an official Nintendo store, but GameStop.

Nintendo has confirmed that select GameStop locations in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia will be celebrating the game’s launch beginning May 11th at 11pm Eastern time and concluding when the game launches at midnight. Nintendo Ambassadors will be attending, and Nintendo has stated that there will be “exciting on-site the Legend of Zelda trivia for fun giveaways, available while supplies last. There will also be giveaways for those who attend in a Legend of Zelda related costume. Additional giveaways will also be available for all event attendees, while supplies last”.

But that’s not all. There’s an extra special surprise for those who attend the festivities at downtown Toronto. You see, Canadian superstar and huge Zelda fan Maitreyi Ramakrishnan will be attending. She will even have the honor of cutting the ribbon at night to welcome customers into the store. If you’re interested in attending, a list of the stores participating is available down below.
