IGN has recently chatted with John Shepherd, VP, Executive Producer at Electronic Arts, about the company’s next instalment of the incredibly popular FIFA franchise on Nintendo Switch. The name has been changed to EA Sports FC 24 after EA refused to pay the ridiculously high price for the FIFA brand name and they have put more effort into this year’s edition for the Nintendo Switch. Shepard told IGN that feature-wise, EA FC 24 for Nintendo Switch will be comparable to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game and also said it really runs great on the Switch hardware. You may remember that the previous FIFA games on Switch were based on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of FIFA . That has all changed now they have finally got the impressive Frostbite engine up and running on Switch.

FC 24, however, is “comparable” to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game in terms of common features, John Shepherd, VP, Executive Producer at Electronic Arts, told IGN.

“It’s going to have all the modes. It’s more representative of the Xbox One, PS4 gameplay, than it would be the PlayStation 5, latest-gen gameplay. There are a few differences, just because of the hardware, but the game’s running great.”

“That’s been multiple years, just trying to get that working really nicely on Switch,” Shepherd said. “We were reviewing it with Nintendo not too long ago. Everyone’s really excited about it.
