You might recall that there is a Minecraft movie in the works. In fact, it has been in the works for many years now. At one point, it was even slated to release in 2019, something that Mojang had even confirmed, before that ultimately didn’t happen. The movie isn’t cancelled though, and things are beginning to look more promising now.

A big reason why is because casting roles are beginning to be filled up. For example, Deadline has reported that Jack Black will be a part of the Minecraft movie’s cast. According to Deadline, he will be playing the role of Steve. Writing credits are still being determined, so the plot isn’t known at this time. So far, Emma Myers, Danielle Brooks and Sebastian Eugene Hansen have also been confirmed to be a part of the cast.
