Publisher 2K and developer Visual Concepts have officially announced NBA 2K24, the latest installment in the beloved basketball video game franchise. Set to release on September 8, NBA 2K24 will be available on Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. One of the most exciting features of the game is its cross-play compatibility between PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, allowing players on different platforms to compete against each other. In a tribute to the late Kobe Bryant, a basketball legend and a prominent figure in the sport, both the NBA 2K24 Kobe Bryant Edition and Black Mamba Edition will feature him as the cover athlete. As Visual Concepts President Greg Thomas stated in a press release, this edition celebrates Kobe Bryant’s legacy and his significant impact on the game of basketball. The game not only pays homage to the franchise’s history but also introduces innovative technological advancements and community-requested features like cross-play.

NBA 2K24 will be available in different editions to cater to players’ preferences. The 25th Anniversary Edition, priced at $149.99, includes a 12-month subscription to NBA League Pass, exclusive MyTEAM content, and various in-game bonuses. The Black Mamba Edition, priced at $99.99, offers similar perks, including exclusive MyTEAM content and dual-gen access. Additionally, there is a standard Kobe Bryant Edition priced at $69.99 (for PS5 and Xbox Series) or $59.99 (for other platforms). Players in the United States and Canada can also purchase a limited version of the WNBA Edition, featuring Sabrina Ionescu as the cover star, exclusively at GameStop.
