Nintendo reveals Mario Wonder content cut from the game

GDC 2024, also known as the Game Developer’s Conference, is currently underway. Not only is Nintendo there, but they even hosted a Super Mario Bros. Wonder panel at the event earlier today. There, they revealed some details about the 2D Mario game that may interest some of you.

At the panel, Nintendo revealed some content that didn’t make it into the final build of the game. Among the cut content detailed was concepts and prototype levels. One prototype level in particular, where Mario turns into his classic pixelated look with a large head, made it far enough into development that Nintendo showed footage of it at the panel.
