Eventually, all these Switch 2 rumors and leaks will come to an end. In fact, the rumor mill may finally be shut down in a few days, where many leakers, insiders and media outlets are now saying that the Switch 2 reveal is planned. Of course, every video game console needs games to play on it. There have been rumors of what Nintendo’s first-party offerings may be, but there has been plenty of rumors on third-party offerings as well.
For example, you may recall earlier today about new information shared by reliable insider NateTheHate. Most of it was about the Switch 2 itself, its reveal and release. However, Nate did go into detail about some things he’s heard in regards to Ubisoft and Konami’s plans for the next Nintendo console. He said that Assassin’s Creed Mirage and Assassin’s Creed Shadows are planned to release on the Switch. The former will be releasing within the launch window, while the latter will arrive at a later date.
Those aren’t the only games Ubisoft’s developing for Switch 2 though. Apparently, Ubisoft “is doing more than half a dozen games for the Switch 2, and a lot of them are going to be late ports. These are from a range of franchises like The Division and Rainbow Six Siege. There was also some discussion and consideration of doing a Mario Rabbids collection, so it would have one and two in a single package. It’s just a question of when will these games come out, and I think for Ubisoft, if they can port the game, they will port the game”.
As for Konami, there’s not as much information. NateTheHate did say that one of the third-party games he’s heard coming to the Switch 2 is none other than Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. At the moment, it only has a 2025 time window, so it’s not out of the realm of possibility that, if this game did come to the Switch 2, it could release around the same time as other platforms. In fact, it’s also not out of the realm of possibility that the game could be dated on the same day its Switch 2 version was announced. Still, nothing has been officially confirmed. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem that we’ll have to wait long for that to change.
