SEGA President and Chief Operations Officer Yukio Sugino recently spoke to Famitsu about Samba de Amigo: Party Central, which is supposed to release on the Nintendo Switch next month, as well as Sonic Superstars. At one point, the topic changed to reboots and remakes of their IPs. Eventually, Sugino said that “‘Sonic’ is also SEGA’s signature IP, and in parallel with [Sonic Superstars], we are considering reboots and remakes”.
It is worth noting that the are only considering reboots and remakes, so neither of those are actually in development for the time being. Nevertheless, fans of older Sonic the Hedgehog games such as Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure 2 may be interested in this news.
