It’s real. It’s happening. This is another edition of What Are You Playing and we can finally, finally, say it: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is out!!!

It will come as no surprise that we have gone a little Zelda-mad this week. We saw how the game’s trailers were lighting up Piccadilly Circus, got all excited as Aonuma confirmed the return of a fan-favourite feature, ran through Digital Foundry’s technical analysis of the game, and recapped the story from Breath of the Wild to ensure that our lore minds are in tip-top condition.

There was also some non-Zelda news to take from this week (if you can believe it) as Nintendo published its quarterly financials report. This gave us an updated look at the best-selling games on Switch and the Switch’s hardware sales to date. On top of this, we put together a list of every first-party Switch game to have sold over one million copies after some newcomers joined the ranks.

In the world of reviews, it was all about Tears of the Kingdom which we granted an “outstanding” 10/10, calling it “a glorious, triumphant sequel to one of the best video games of all time; absolute unfiltered bliss to lose yourself in for hundreds of hours”.

Normally at this moment, we would say something here about “now, a group of our writers have come together to share their gaming plans for the weekend” before breaking down our individual lineups for you to read. But come on, who are we kidding? We all know exactly what the Nintendo Life team will be playing for the coming days/weeks/months, so we have decided to present you with the abridged version instead.

Happy adventuring, everyone!
