sneak energy pink and green

Sneak Energy have released two brand new limited edition flavours of their sugar-free energy drink. In the pink corner we have Rainbow Burst and in the green corner, Melon Blast.

Building on a plethora of flavours already available over at Sneak – our personal favourites are Purple Storm, Tropikilla, and Blue Raspberry – the powders come in 400g tubs with the high-quality, eye-catching packaging that you expect from Sneak.

Both of these new flavours promise to give you a powerful, sustained energy boost that keeps you alert, focused and hydrated – perfect for a long gaming session where you need to keep your wits about you. All you need to do is just mix a scoop of the powder with 300-400 ml of water and you will be rewarded with a tasty, refreshing energy drink. If you prefer your energy drinks fizzy, then mix with sparkling water (just be careful when shaking!).

Containing amino acids, vitamins, minerals and the all-important 150 mg of caffeine per serving, Sneak drinks also contain natural colours and flavourings. We were previously impressed by the flavours in the Sneak range so – what are these new flavours like and do they also pass the taste test?

Let’s start with pink. Sneak describes Rainbow Burst as: “we start with the humble strawberry, but then rapidly descend through a kaleidoscope of bold citrus tones and splashes of vanilla. It tastes like a rainbow, in the least copyright infringing way possible”.

Our opinion: The first punch comes from the strawberries, but you’ll soon be hit with a few fruit salad chewy sweets. From there you’ll be needing to watch out for the splash of that banana flavoured medicine you got as a kid; the stuff that was almost worth having an ear infection for. You can then finish off with a jab of bitter lemon. Simply put, the Sneak Rainbow Burst is a sweet and fruity drink, but with an adult edge.

Moving onto green – Melon Blast – and Sneak’s copywriters went with: “This is one smooth, refreshing little number but don’t let your guard down. Watch out for the zingy little slap of yuzu at the end that will wake up your senses. It’s sweet, it’s tart and it’ll definitely have you coming back for more.

Our opinion is that the first thing to hit you is the melon, but quickly coming up behind are pear drops. You’ll be left reeling from a sour tang and a whiff of menthol. This one is most definitely refreshing, and oddly addictive, even for melon-haters.

To go with the new coloured themes of the Rainbow Burst and Melon Blast, Sneak have also released a new pink and green 700 ml shaker that you can enjoy your choice of drink in. As is the case with all their shakers, this is sturdy, good-looking and the perfect vehicle to deliver Sneak to mouth.

Both Rainbow Burst and Melon Blast are tasty, different enough to the other flavours Sneak offers to fit in well with their current mix. But the bad news is they are currently only in limited edition form – will one or both become a permanent fixture? Perhaps the clue is in the battle theme, with the flavour that accrues the most sales winning the illustrious spot in Sneaks’ line.

Which flavour is TheXboxHub backing? Did you really need to ask? #teamgreen all the way!
