It is the second week of the High Performance series in the world of Forza Horizon 5, and as we might expect, it is also about going fast in powerful cars. Well, that’s mainly what it is about!

With the arrival of Autumn, there are a plethora of new events to have a crack at, and what do you need to make the most of the points and prizes that are on offer in the latest Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges? Well, hopefully, some suggestions as to the cars and tunes to use for this week’s festivities won’t go amiss. Because if you don’t, I’m out of a job.

So let’s check out what Series 20 – Autumn has blown into Mexico, shall we?

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Effortlessly Powerful

The subject of this week’s car challenge is an American icon, the Chevrolet Corvette, the Z06 model from 2015. It is a nice looking bit of kit, but I’m always a bit dubious about the American car’s abilities on the open road. Still, it’s nothing a little light tuning shouldn’t be able to cure.

Should you not have a Z06 in your garage, they are available from the Autoshow for a mere  110,000 credits.

Chapter 1 – Super Cooled

Get in your new Z06 and take it for a spin (hopefully not literally!).

Chapter 2 – Stingray

To celebrate the nickname of the Corvette, and because there are apparently stingrays in the sea around Mexico (?), we need to score two stars at the La Silica Speed Zone. To do this, an average speed of 90 mph is required

I’ve upgraded mine a tad to make this easier, and the share code is: 527686203.

Chapter 3 – Big Reveal

Because the car was released in 2015, we need to bank 15,000 skill score to commemorate the fact. It seems like they are really reaching with the steps this week…

Still, drift, break stuff, jump, whatever it takes to bank that score!

Chapter 4 – Pace Setter

A racing version of this car apparently won its class at Le Mans in 2015, so in order to celebrate that win, we need to win a road race. Pick your best one and let it rip.

And with that, the weekly challenge is complete and we are five points closer to the first car reward for Series 20 – Autumn.

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

Now that it is Autumn, the action will hopefully start to heat up to compensate for the end of summer, and with more racing this week (yay!) and also more Eventlabs (boo!) we should have enough to keep us occupied. So, let’s check out what we need to do, shall we?

The Trial – Nimble Nineties

Ah, the Trial, the weekly challenge to get a team together who can tell the difference between red and blue, and hopefully beat a team of unbeatable Driverbots.

Well, the challenge this week is to take a car made in the 90’s, tune it up to A Class 800, and then take part. With a wide range of choices, I went with a Nissan 240SX, and the share code is : 299598631.

If we manage to end up on top, a TVR Griffith is the reward.

Eventlab 1 –  Joh Cee Presents Egypt Part 1 Cairo

We need to take a car, any car it appears, in the S2 Class so I used the first one I came to that tickled my fancy, a stock Mercedes AMG One. No point tuning as we are the only competitors!

This isn’t too bad as a track, but a top tip if I may – slow down after the bridge as it is entirely possible to slide off into the sea, and there is no way back.

For winning, we can take away a “breaking shatter” horn.

Eventlab 2 – ICHICHENS Presents Level Speedway (Oval)

Again, this is another S2 Class 998 event, anything goes, so I stayed in the One. You guys do do this in order, right?

Well, it’s an Oval – drive around, turn left, rinse and repeat. Not the most exciting track ever, but a long way from the worst.

We can claim a Super Wheelspin for completing this event though so you may as well give it a go.

PR Stunt 1 – Trailblazer – Malpais

Step forward the BMW X5M Forza Edition, with share code: 519084427.

This certainly isn’t shy, and it fits the Trailblazer rules about car class – S2 Class 998. Driving through the countryside, trying to get to the end of the course with more than 20 seconds on the clock has a way of focussing the mind!

It’s a short course, but hitting the gate as fast as you can will help.

Another Super wheelspin will be yours if you drive fast enough. And mind those rocks.

PR Stunt 2 – Speed Zone – Green Hills

If speed is required, I always reach for the same car – the Koenigsegg Agera RS, and my share code is: 109282883.

We need to blaze the zone at an average speed of higher than 180mph, and this car should be okay to do it. There are some tricky bends, however, so practise your lines.

Should you manage it, another Super Wheelspin will be winging its way towards you.

PR Stunt 3 – Speed Trap – East Resort

As above, so below – stay in the Koenigsegg is the best advice I can give for this event. Hit above 215 mph to win! There are tricky curves both ways, but approaching from the north seemed a tad easier.

Another Super wheelspin could be yours for keeping that throttle pinned. The run up is nice and long anyway.

Seasonal Championship 1 – Street’D Lightning

A retro supercar challenge this week, with a tuning limit of S1 Class 900.

Well, for retro you have to think of Lamborghini, and in this case the Diablo SV from 1997. My share code is: 125472672. Just promise not to do a Paddy McGuiness in it, okay?

For winning the championship solo, or best two out of three if you can find a friend, we will take away a BMW M6 from 2013.

Seasonal Championship 2 – Buggy Bug World

An off road championship, in an Unlimited Buggy tuned up to B Class 700? What could be better? Well, from the not massive choice, I opted for an AlumicraftClass 10 Race Car buggy with share code : 401432454.

For fulfilling the same criteria as before, we will this time win a KTM X-Bow. Not sure it would be much good off road!

Seasonal Championship 3 – A Rally Good Time

For this series of races, a Modern Rally car in the B Class 700 range is required, and as always, this always says “Evo” to me. I went with an Evo VIII MR to be exact, and the share code is : 141172186.

For coming out on top, we can walk away with a Porsche Panamera.

Part 3: Other Challenges

Want to take in a Photo Challenge, some Horizon Open and a Treasure Hunt? Good.

Photo Challenge – #Suprasonic

This week, the challenge is to take a GR Supra to San Juan, and take a photo of the beast. I’ll post the location and my artistic effort below for your admiration/ridicule.

The reward? A Toyota Race Suit. It’ll take something better than that to get me out of my dinosaur suit!

Collectible Challenge – Safety First

Someone appears to have left some helmet shaped pinatas around (no sniggering at the back) and so we have to find and smash ten of the offending articles. I’ll post a picture of what you are looking for below.

These seem to be plentiful in and around the Horizon Mexico outpost.

For smashin these helmets, we will get a new Forzalink phrase “It is the Way”.

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

Got the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player? You get to enjoy a couple of extra events.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Forest Leap

Jump around – as House of Pain once memorably sang, and that is what we need to do here.

Take an S2 Class 998 car, fling it off a tramp and try to get more 450 metres distance. I went with the Koenigsegg Agera RS, and my share code is: 109282883. Hitting the ramp at 210 mph saw me scrape over the line. Approach from the left is the best advice I can give.

Hang on tight! A Super wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – Can you Canyon

We need a Modern Supercar, tuned to S1 Class 900 for this set of races, and of the choice on offer, there was always going to one winner – the Nissan GT-R Black Edition, and the share code for mine is : 394811233.

The prize? A Ford Mustang from 2016. Better than a jumper, eh?

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

Expanding Forza Horizon 5 is the Rally Adventure expansion and that brings new events to the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenge roster. You’ll need to be the Horizon Badlands champion in order to take part, but from there, the following events open up.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Canyon Snap

When an off road event is called, especially in the S2 Class 998 category, it is always the BMW X5M FE I reach for, and the share code is : 519084427.

We need to clear a distance of 350 metres, and hitting the ramp at 170 mph was good enough.

A Super Wheelspin is the prize.

Seasonal Championship – Dancing in the dirt

Retro Rally cars, to a maximum of C Class 600 means this isn’t going to be the fastest race ever. Well, I went with a Toyota Celica ST205, and the share code is : 861264673.

For winning, whether solo or in a convoy, we will get some tan winter boots. Makes it all worthwhile, no?

Should you have followed that little guide then you will have found that Series 20 continues to race off into the distance, with a ton of points and cars on offer. But you’ll need all the points you can muster in order to grab all the reward cars and so taking part in the Monthly Rivals events will help. Just nail some clean laps around Dunas Blancas Sprint and the Chihuahua Circuit and you’ll be good.

Autumn also bring new prizes, with this week’s cars being the brand new #70 Porsche 935 for 20 points and the not new but still quite groovy Nio EP9 for 40 points.

Monthly cars? Yes, there are those too, and the Ferrari 599XX is yours for gaining 80 points, while 160 points will net you a mighty McLaren F1. Keep following these guides to get all of the cars throughout Series 20 as we navigate Winter and Spring.

Of course, should you wish to take in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5 to hand. It’s available to download on Game Pass, playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and even on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out.

Let us know if our tips, tricks and tunes help you with the completion of these challenges. Or if you have better cars and tunes, drop them in. We’re always on the lookout for new motors.
