Cars and Coffee continues into its second week in Forza Horizon 5 and Series 36 Autumn of the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges. And I’m about as caffeinated as it is possible to be, so let’s do lots of driving!

Luckily, as this is the second run at a new week in the Series, there are loads of new things to take part in – challenges, races, PR stunts and more with the Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 36 Autumn.

So, grab a coffee to go and let’s take in what is new in the season, shall we?

Part 1: Weekly Car Challenge – Spirit of Performance

The Koenigsegg CC8S is the car at the centre of the weekly challenge. This was the first production car from the Swedish manufacturer, although with only 6 being built, I’m not sure I’d describe it as a production car!

Should you not have one already, go and buy it from the Autoshow – they will exchange it for 400,000 of your credits. You can also win one by completing the “A pretty Swede deal” seasonal championship. I have an S1 Class tune ready, share name CC8 with my GT, Red620Ti.

Chapter 1 – Where it All Began

Get in your new car, take it for a spin.  Step one complete.

Chapter 2 – Record Breaker

Now simply maintain 200 mph for 10 seconds.Obviously the highway is the best place to do this! Simple with the tune above.

Chapter 3 – Doors to Adore

As the car came with Dihedral Synchro Helix Actuation doors, we need to earn a showoff skill in any road race. No, I don’t know why the doors are such a big deal either!

A showoff skill means we have to pass another car while drifting, which is pretty tricky.

Chapter 4 – Rocket Cat

Take a photo of the car, at the coffee shop at the west end of the highway. This is to celebrate its exhaust or something. I think the task writers are starting to run out of ideas…

Complete these tasks and we will be five points closer to the seasonal prizes that are up for grabs with Forza Horizon 5’s Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 36.

Part 2: Weekly Challenges, Championships and PR Stunts

With the weekly challenge done and dusted, let’s dive into the rest of the mayhem on offer.

The Trial, three Eventlabs, PR Stunts, races, who could ask for more?

The Trial – A Matcha Made in Heaven

Time to play as a team. I know I say it every week, but hopefully sooner or later someone will notice… Last week was especially bad. I’m beginning to despair!

We need a Nissan or Datsun Car, tuned to B Class 700. Sounds like a job for a Skyline GT-R, and the car I chose was the 1993 model, share code : 135285831.

Let’s hope the racing gods smile down on us this week, as we attempt to win a Nissan GT-R.

Eventlab 1 – BPEASE17 Presents Sunset Palms Raceway

We need a Retro Supercar here, tuned to S1 Class 900. I chose a Bugatti EB110, and the share code is : 150254595.

A good flowing track, the 90 degree left at the end of the straight was a bit of an unwelcome surprise!

A Super Wheelspin is the prize.

Eventlab 2 – MISTERX74 Presents Calvo’s Karting

We need a Track Toy tuned to A Class 800, and so I went with a BMW M3-GTR. Share code: 198385025.

A fun and technical circuit, liberal use of the handbrake is a must!

Take away a Mustang ‘69 as a reward.

Eventlab 3 – EDELMAENN Presents Cordilerra Rally

A Modern Rally or Rally Monster car is needed here, with a tuning limit of A Class 800. I went with a Hoonigan Cossie V2, share code : 140648350.

A well thought out, fast and fun track, this completes a hat trick of good races this week.

The prize for winning is an Exocet Off-Road, which is nice.

PR Stunt 1 -Danger Sign – Valle

This week, all the PR stunts need the same car, a B Class 700 Nissan Pulsar. The share name for mine is PulsarB with my GT, Red620Ti.

We need to clear 210m, which seems like a fair old way!

Do so and you’ll find a Super Wheelspin heading your way in return.

PR Stunt 2 – Speed Trap – Levee

Same car needed here, and the target is 120 mph.

Another Super Wheelspin awaits.

PR Stunt 3 – Speed Zone – Punta Allen

Same car yet again, but some average speed driving to do. Go through the zone at over 90 mph to win big!

Another Super wheelspin, that is.

Seasonal Championship 1 – Feel the Hype

Groan.

We need to use a Hypercar for this event, to a limit of S1 Class 900, and so I used the same CC8S as in the weekly challenge above!

For winning out, we can take home an Corvette from 1967.

Seasonal Championship 2 – A Pretty Swede Deal

We need to grab a “Rare Classic” car and make it into a B Class 700 monster. Can a B Class car be a monster? Discuss.

From the choice on offer, I went with a Ferrari 365 GTB/4 and the share code is : 767151197.

The prize for winning is a Koenigsegg CC8S, just right for the weekly challenge.

Seasonal Championship 3 – Finger on the Pulsar

We need a Classic Rally car tuned to C Class 600, and so it is the turn of the Mini Cooper from 1965 to take centre stage. The share code for mine is : 176823547.

For winning out, we can take home a Nissan Pulsar. Just right for the PR Stunt challenges!

Part 3: Other Challenges

Slim pickings this week, only a photo and some treasure to find.

Photo Challenge – #BOSSINGAROUND

Take a photo of a Mustang Boss 302 in front of Senkoes Mural in Playa Azul. Sounds complicated? I’ll show you where to go, never fear.

Enjoy my artistic effort up at the top of this piece. The location you need to be in is below.

The reward? A new top, Senkoes relaxed fit tee. Nope, still the coffee cup for me!

Treasure Hunt – Doing Watt it Takes

The clue reads “A runway strip is what you’ll need, with jungle all around. Go and hit 200 miles in speed, with cars that make no sound!”

Get in an Electric car and hit 200 mph on the airstrip in the south of Mexico, Aerodromoen la Selva. I used a Rimac Nevera in stock trim to do the deed.

The chest, when you unlock it, contains 100,000 credits, and the location is shown below.

Part 4: Hot Wheels Events

If you have the Hot Wheels expansion and are an Elite Level player, then you get to enjoy a couple of extra events.

Seasonal PR Stunt – Danger Sign – Canyon Fire

Limited to only a Lambo Aventador ‘12, we need to do a bit of jumping for this event. Share code for mine is : 362867196.

The target is 369m. This is pretty tough, but a decent run up will see you right. Try to steer right on the ramp to stick the landing.

The prize is another Super Wheelspin. How many of these things do you have?

Seasonal Championship – Hot n’ Cold

We need a Modern Supercar, tuned to S1 Class 900. I used a Nissan GT-R Black Edition, and the share code for mine is : 394811233.

The reward for racing? A Lambo Aventador from 2012.

Part 5: Rally Adventure Events

The Rally Adventure expansion brings even more events to the roster and provided you are already a Horizon Badlands champion, you’ll get access to the following couple of events…

Seasonal PR Stunt – Speed Zone – Devil’s Pass

We are limited to a single car this week, and that car is the Volvo 242 Turbo, tuned to C Class 600. The share name for mine is 242C with the GT, Red620Ti.

We need to average over 65 mph through the zone. Approaching from the south seems easiest.

A Super Wheelspin is your reward.

Seasonal Championship – Retro Reapers

We need a Retro Rally car, and the tuning limit is B Class 700. I went with a stock Lancia Delta S4, as it is almost at the limit. Thrifty is in fact my middle name…

Completing the championship will get us a Volvo 242 Turbo. Handy!

The rewards for Series 36 and Autumn in Forza Horizon 5

With Series 36 rolling into Autumn, the road to the new cars for the month should be in sight. And they are the Aston Martin Vanquish from 2018 for 80 points and a Ford Mustang DD for 160 points. Just keep adding points for now and these will be in your garage in no time.

Even more Rivals circuits have now been added with Series 36 – and we are back to the full 4 for this month. These are Copper Canyon Sprint, Arch of Mulege Circuit, Cathedral circuit (I hate this one) and Mangrove Scramble. Turn in clean laps on each track to earn a massive four points to the weekly totals. Sadly not four for each, as they seem to suggest!

Grab enough points and Series 36 Autumn also sees you given access to the exclusive VW SP-2 for 20 points. Additionally, for 40 points we can get the Emory 256 C, a hard to find but very good looking car.

Tune in at the same time next week for the next instalment of Series 36as we get to drink more coffee and drive more cars with the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Winter and then Spring! That is all we want in life, no?

To enjoy these events in the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges, you’ll need a copy of Forza Horizon 5. It’s available on Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and on the cloud via mobile. The Xbox Store will sort you out with a download.

Let us know in the comments if I have helped, hindered or missed the mark with these tunes.
