Train Sim World 2 players will be more than familiar with how the base game has expanded massively in the months since launch, with multiple DLC packs having taken things to the next levels. Today that expansion continues as Dovetail Games give players the chance to take control of the Nahverkehr Dresden route via Rush Hour: Season Ticket.
Available today on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and PC (both Steam and Epic), the Nahverkehr Dresden route takes players off to the heart of Saxony countryside – all as part of the Rush Hour: Season Ticket. If you’re unaware, it’s this which gives immediate access to Nahverkehr Dresden and Boston Sprinter, as well as the upcoming London Commuter.
So what do we have this time around? Well, Nahverkehr Dresden is one of the busiest routes released for Train Sim World 2 so far, as players experience complex operations out of the iconic Dresden Hbf, with commuters and international travellers converging to make a hustle and bustle mix of S-Bahn, regional, inter-city and freight traffic. It’s a route that dates all the way back to the 1830s, as the line between Dresden and Riesa was one of Germany’s first long-distance railways. Today though it keeps the busy fast services flowing, beating the regional traffic through the use of separate fast and slow lines that each take a different path through the Saxony countryside.
Of course, a busy network also means lots of trains. The Nahverkehr Dresden route features five locomotives to take control of, with regional, S-Bahn and freight service challenges all presented. It’ll see you given the opportunity to get hands-on with the DB BR 442, BR 143, BR 146.2 BR 363 and MRCE BR 185.5, plus take control of IC and ICE services with the BR 406 ICE 3M. And yep, as this is Train Sim World 2, all will be officially licensed and authentically recreated.
If you’ve got the Train Sim World 2 Rush Hour Season Ticket, you’ll gain auto-access to the new route. Alternatively you can pick up the Nahverkehr Dresden route individually for €29.99 / $29.99 / £24.99. And if you don’t have ANY of what Train Sim World 2 delivers, consider the Train Sim World 2: Rush Hour Deluxe Edition bundle which includes Train Sim World 2 and the Rush Hour expansion combined as one.
