Available to purchase and download right now, Merek’s Market is a weird old affair, one which will have you taking on the role of Merek as you look to run your marketplace to the best of your abilities. You see, not only do we get to play video games as the adventurer looking for new gear, but now we also get to jump behind the counter and provide would-be explorers with the items that they so desire. 

Priced at £14.99, at its heart Merek’s Market is a crafting game, one which just so happens to get a little tasty in terms of the chaos that can unfold. Whether that be via the single player campaign which is the meat and drink of the experience, or with friends who are looking to supply an entire town with gear, the options are open. 

It’ll be in the crafting of gear, and the haggling of the prices of your wares which Merek’s Market plays on, but haggling your way through town certainly looks to be a fun little affair; or at least it does if the trailer is anything to go by. 

And if you find the solo life a struggle? Well, you can invite your mates to join you in your quest of feeding the nation. Win win!

• Craft – Do you have the skill and craftsmanship to make beautiful artisanal items? Neither does Merek but putting a few items on a crafting table and hitting them with a hammer seem to turn up decent results.
• Haggle – Skilfully negotiate your way into heady profits. Unethical side note, richer folk will pay through the nose for any product. Do with that information what you will.
• Bosses – Battle absurd bosses and craft custom items for them. If you can’t manage that then at least try your best to keep your shop in one piece.
• 4 Player Local Co-op – Can’t invite your friends round? You can play with your parents who will most definitely quickly grasp the controls and be useful team mates. – Has the spark gone?
