Releasing today on Xbox and PC, day one through the Xbox Game Pass programme, Planet of Lana sets you upon a dysfunctional planet, that was formerly a planet in which human and nature lived in harmony. Now, that is certainly not the case, as this alien odyssey is rampant with huge mechanical beasts, hell-bent on hunting you down. Maybe Planet of Lana is more akin to Somerville, now we think of it.

Regardless of whichever titles developers Wishfully have drawn upon, the fact is that Planet of Lana looks absolutely stunning, with the conversations between Lana and her small alien cat Mui being perforated by lush forests, arid deserts, and many other colourful landscapes in between. This will all be enjoyed within stealth sections, as you evade your robotic enemies, combining with Mui to solve puzzles, or making a mad dash for it in action set-pieces, complete with optional QTEs.

A planet that used to be a place of undisturbed balance between human, nature, and animal has now become something else entirely. The disharmony that had been in the making for hundreds of years has finally arrived in the form of a faceless army. But this is not a story about war. This is a story about a vibrant, beautiful planet –and the journey to keep it that way.
