It’s been some eight years since we took to the field in Blood Bowl 2, but now it’s time for the hard-hitting brutality of Blood Bowl 3 to play out. Are you ready for a battering?

From the Cyanide and NACON teams, Blood Bowl 3 releases on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC as of today, at least if you go about purchasing the top tier Brutal Edition of the game. Priced at £49.99, it’s this option which gives some 48 hours early access ahead of the regular street date as the fantasy football plays out.

Get involved in Blood Bowl 3 – either via the Early Access or by holding tight until the 23rd – and you’ll discover a game that looks to provide a step up from the previous release of Blood Bowl 2, as Elves, Humans, Orcs and a whole ton of other fantasy creatures take to the field, looking for all-out war.

There are twelve factions included in all, with the genre standards of Dwarfs and Dark Elves now accompanied by the likes of the Imperial Nobility, the Old World Alliance, the Black Orcs and more. Nacon and Cyanide are promising more to that as we progress too.

Blood Bowl 3 also plays with dynamic pitches, as matches transform, rules amend and special events take hold. It’s not just enough to go scoring points in Blood Bowl 3, you’ll need to cope with a range of new ideas and features.

Front and centre of the changes is a major redesign to the passing system, the opportunity to learn new skills and strategies, to take in a revamped levelling up system and more. Single player and multiplayer modes (challenges, league system, season ladder) will ensure the action is fast and hard, with new seasons – and therefore a new Blood Pass (standard!) – popping up every three months or so.

There’s a lot going on in Blood Bowl 3, with much of the fun of the fight coming in the chance to create players, customising them, kitting them out in new kit and armor, all before throwing them into a game in order to prove themselves as the best Blood Bowl team in the Old World.

If you’re down with what is on offer, then grabbing the Blood Bowl 3: Brutal Edition should be the way to go, if only as that edition adds…

  • – The game – The Black Orcs Customizations pack
  • – The Imperial Nobility Customizations pack
  • – The Brutal Ball pack
  • – The Brutal Cheerleader pack
  • – 1,000 Warpstone

But there are cheaper options on the table if you’re not too fussed by the goodies it brings. There’s the £41.74 Imperial Nobility Edition which gives access to the game, the Brutal Ball pack and the Imperial Nobility Customizations pack, whilst the Black Orcs Edition for the same price switches out that customisation pack for that of the Black Orcs.

Finally there’s the bog-standard edition of Blood Bowl 3 for £33.49. There’s nothing too fancy there, but you will find the Dice and Team Logos Pack to be yours.

Stick around for a full review of Blood Bowl 3 from us in the days ahead. But for now, the links above will push you to the relevant Xbox Store page, so you can purchase the game and play it on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S (Optimised) today. You should also find Blood Bowl 3 on PlayStation and PC.

Game Description:

Strap on your boots, don your helmet, adjust your shoulder guards and chest plate… and slip a sharpened dagger into your belt (discreetly).
