Opaloid Kingdom
Opaloid Kingdom is now available on Xbox

We’re getting some serious hits of nostalgia with the release of Opaloid Kingdom, as it launches onto the world of Xbox.

Available right now from Desert Water Games, Opaloid Kingdom is a cheap and pretty damn cheerful retro adventure that tells the story of two mages – one good, one bad.

A tale of two mages

Priced at £4.19, Opaloid Kingdom will send you on a journey into the unknown. It’s here where those two mages come to the fore; one intent on saving the land, urged on by the King, whilst the other looks to take control for their own evil doings.

The first of the wizardy types is the Azure Sorcerer. They live a simple life in Azure river town, growing herbs, foraging mushrooms, helping the villagers with the harvest and a little rain once in a while thanks to his water magic. His calm lifestyle gets interrupted when the King summons him to the castle with a request that might put his life in danger.

And then we have the Crazy Wizard, a mage that lives in a fortress and used to serve the king as an advisor and ally is now the enemy of the whole crown. He’s holed up in his secluded fortress where his monstrous pets keep him company, along with a whole company of dungeon gnomes which have built their own town inside and recognize the Crazy Wizard as his liege.

Dungeons await, as do a host of monsters, NPCs, and the most thrilling of obstacles. With challenge front and centre and an old-school way of ‘doing things’, Opaloid Kingdom looks to belie that cheap asking price.

Purchase and download!

Opaloid Kingdom is on the Xbox Store. It’s playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, with full optimisation on the newer consoles.
