To many, the blend of ‘80s arcade-style bullet hell shooting and modern day roguelike progression is a match made in heaven. Razerwire: Nanowars is delivering just this as it brings a simple to pick up but hard to master loop of fighting, dying, upgrading, and fighting all over again to the masses.

Already available to Nintendo Switch users, Razerwire: Nanowars debuts on Xbox, and will be immediately appealing to fans of bullet hell titles such as Geometry Wars. The twist here is that you are using a lethal rope tied between you and a generator to smash into attacking foes. This is the RazerWire – as thin as a wire and as sharp as… a razer. The reason for this name is that you are in fact microscopic in size, as it is particle-sized aliens that are threatening to destroy the universe this time around.

That’s the bonkers ‘80s premise out of the way, and now for the modern day application. You will be fighting through waves of aliens until you simply cannot anymore and succumb to this threat. After, its a case of upgrading your weapon and procuring impactful powerups to progress just that little bit further the next time around. Rinse and repeat, until you are the ultimate nano-alien killing machine.

Key features of Razerwire: Nanowars include:

  • Arcade-style gameplay with rogue-like progression.
  • A unique mechanic in which you use a super-sharp wire connected to a generator as a weapon.
  • Endless waves of attackers with increasing difficulty.
  • Many enemy types with several variants on each.
  • Multiple unlockable upgrades and powerups.

If this sounds right up your alley, then heading over to the Xbox Store and paying £6.69 will see Razerwire: Nanowars sitting pretty in your Xbox Series X|S or Xbox One library. Alternatively, make your way down to the Nintendo eShop for a purchase on Switch.

Game Description:

FIGHT, DIE, UPGRADE AND FIGHT AGAIN Survive the endless waves of invading aliens, and when you lose, use the resources you’ve gained to upgrade RazerWire and keep fighting! RazerWire: Nanowars is a unique bullet-hell style game where you don’t so much shoot enemies as use a wire connected to a generator as a weapon, cutting through enemies with a sharp monomolecular filament. With each wave, the difficulty level increases! Opponents with new weapons and better armour appear, and this is where upgrades come to the rescue. With the points you earn, you can upgrade your weapon and also buy useful powerups.
